My favourite lodge in Namibia: RiverDance Lodge
RiverDance Lodge is a beautiful, family-run lodge in the Caprivi Strip near Divundu, Northern Namibia. It is the perfect stopover for travellers coming from or going to Botswana, Zambia or Angola.
Nestled between the trees high above the Kavango River, RiverDance Lodge is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Designing this architecturally stunning lodge, attention to every detail has been paid,
The lodge comprises 5 stunning and secluded wooden cabins. Each unit has floor to ceiling windows and its own private deck overlooking the river – and that view is just outstanding! The deck connects the bedroom and bathroom via a private walkway. The most amazing feature for me was the bathtub showcasing views of the river. It was a hard life deciding whether I should watch the sunset from the private terrace or bathtub…
The lodge is family-run with additional personnel from the surrounding villages. There’s a warm and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you enter the lodge and everybody is just trying to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Last but not least, the food is outstanding! We had the best steak here we had in a long time and also, just look at those mini toffee apples in a caramel sauce. Delicious.
We stayed at RiverDance Lodge after weeks of camping in Botswana, which made this place even more magical for us. But anyway, whether you’re looking for a beautiful and private oasis to relax or to explore the area, RiverDance is hard to beat.
The lodge also offers a range of activities. You can find that and more info on the lodge on their website.
